Molly Thomason
Molly Thomason is a young singer-songwriter who was born in Sidcup, Kent, England however moved to Nova Scotia as a child. She has been described by her peers as an 'old soul with huge reserves of passion' and released her first CD, Through The Static, in June 2009 at the age of 14. The album, produced by Tim Feswick, was subsequently nominated for New Artist Recording of the Year for Music Nova Scotia 2009 and for Pop/Rock Recording of the Year in 2010. The songs "Kiss Me" and "Text Book Cute" from Through The Static made it to #1 on the East Coast Countdown and "Kiss Me" was also featured on an episode of Degrassi: The Next Generation in October 2010.
Molly has also been gracing the stage with her original material, having the opportunity to share the stage with some influencial artists such as Old Man Luedecke, The Stanfields, Sloan, Gordie Sampson, Carmen Townsend, Ian Sherwood, Christina Martin, Lenny Gallant, and The Trews, and the opportunity to play events including Evolve Festival, East Coast Music Awards, Canada Music Week, Stanfest, Cavendish Beach Festival, and many more.
Her follow up album Beauty Queen, which was recorded here at Codapop Recording Studios and produced by Dale Murray, was released on May 31st, 2011 and has already received great feedback from the industry. In such a short period of time, Molly has certainly taken the music scene by storm and shows no sign of stopping, so keep an eye out for her!
