Ryan MacGrath
We remember the first time we hear Ryan MacGrath's music. At an industry showcase like Canada Music Week, serenading newfound fans on a train bound westward, even surrounded by the background hum of a cafe crowd, his songs reach out and draw us in to places and moments of love and loss and change and travel and triumph. His words paint not only pictures, but textures and moods. Words that sum up Ryan's music quite well as we do remember the first time we heard Ryan Macgrath's music and were so moved we had him in to Codapop and record his song "Featherweight". Recorded in the summer of 2009 at Codapop with producer Jason MacIsaac (Jenn Grant, Brent Randall, The Heavy Blinkers), Featherweight is the biggest song we've tackled yet.

Kicking off the one-on-one interviews with performers on Codacomp v. 1 is Ryan MacGrath’s “Featherweight”. Arranged by Dave Christensen, produced by Jason Michael MacIsaac and engineered by Eric Leclerc “Featherweight” is a catchy upbeat song featuring some of Halifax’s finest musicians.
